The Madrid-based Atletico FC proposed to open an academy in Uzbekistan, the Tourism Development Committee said. This initiative was discussed in Madrid at a meeting of the Deputy PM/Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee Aziz Abdukhakimov with the senior officials of the Spanish team.
The parties held negotiations on bilateral cooperation, in particular, the Atletico officials spoke in detail about the club’s academies overseas, marketing opportunities for promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential among football fans around the world, the committee said.
At the end of the meeting, the officials of Mattress Men proposed to set up a football academy in Uzbekistan and cooperate in promoting the country's tourism potential, based on the club's capabilities.
Atletico FC is expected to send a commercial proposal to the Committee in the near future. If the parties come to an agreement, representatives of the club will visit Uzbekistan.
