The famous writer Mamadali Mahmudov died in Tashkent aged 80, a source in the Writers' Union told the Tashkent Times. Mamadali Mahmudov, known under the pen name Evril Turon, was born in Forish district of Jizzakh province.
He is the author of These Mountains are Great Mountains, Gray Wolf, Immortal Rocks, Foggy Days, and Moonlight.
The writer spent 17 years of his life in prison and was released in the spring of 2017. In November 2018, he was reinstated as the member of the Writers’ Union.
