Tashkent’s city administration said the heating season in the capital will begin once the average daily temperature stays below 8 degrees Celsius for five consecutive days, but no start date has been announced.

The administration said preparations of the heating systems are continuing. It added that, as in previous years, actual weather conditions will be taken into account, and the decision to start the season will not be delayed if temperatures drop sharply.

“The Tashkent city administration is keeping the situation under control. Work to prepare the systems for the heating season is being carried out jointly with city services and specialists from Veolia Energy Tashkent,” the statement said.

The administration said it would provide more information on when heat supply will begin.

It was reported earlier that the baseline electricity allowance would be raised during the heating season in areas without gas supply.
