Another fatal incident has occurred at the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC). On Sept. 10, a dump truck tire exploded at the Pistali mine, part of NMMC's Kyzylkum mine administration. Two workers were killed in the incident, and several others sustained injuries of varying severity.
NMMC has not yet issued an official comment on the incident.
This marks the second fatal incident at the combine in the past two months. On July 21, a dump truck struck and crushed a passenger car at the Muruntau mine, killing two workers on the spot.
For context, the first blasting operations at the Pistali mine, located in Nurota district, were carried out in 2023. Rock at the site is transported mainly by Komatsu dump trucks with load capacities of 55 and 90 tons.
