President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received a delegation from China, led by Liu Haixing, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee.
The senior Chinese official conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Uzbek leader.
The talks focused on further expanding multifaceted cooperation and practical partnership between Uzbekistan and China, building on agreements reached at the highest level.
The two sides noted that Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership relations have reached new heights across all areas in recent years.
Bilateral trade and investment have grown steadily, they said, with a rising number of joint projects and enterprises involving leading Chinese companies.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening interparliamentary and inter-party cooperation.
The two sides also underscored the importance of deepening cooperation in higher and vocational education, including by opening branches of leading Chinese universities in Uzbekistan.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to adopt a joint road map for expanding interparliamentary and inter-party cooperation.
