Representatives of Karakalpakstan held an online meeting with the leadership of Israel's DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center, which develops innovative solutions for arid regions and climate change adaptation, according to Dunyo news agency.

The two sides exchanged views on strengthening international cooperation in environmental protection, sustainable resource management, scientific research, the adoption of innovative technologies, and specialist training.

The Center's leadership shared insights into Israel's experience developing technological solutions for regions grappling with the effects of climate change, water scarcity, and desertification.

Representatives of Karakalpakstan, for their part, briefed participants on ongoing efforts to improve the environmental situation, strengthen scientific capacity, and implement measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Following the talks, both sides affirmed their mutual interest in building a partnership and agreed to begin cooperation by drafting and signing a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding, which will serve as the foundation for further engagement in areas of shared interest.

It was previously reported that Uzbekistan's agricultural sector is collapsing under the weight of widespread technological backwardness, drought, and soil salinization.
