Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Belarussian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, at the beginning of the meeting, the Belarussian PM conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The parties discussed ways to further expands the Uzbek-Belarusian ties and the multifaceted partnership in the context of the reached agreements.
They commended the high level of cooperation achieved, particularly in trade and economic matters. Last year, bilateral trade increased by 25 percent, reaching almost $1 billion.
The parties pointed to the importance of developing a new economic agenda by promoting joint projects in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, textile and food industries, agriculture, and other areas and to the need to step contacts between the provinces of the two countries and cultural and humanitarian exchanges was also emphasized.
