President Mirziyoyev signed a decree on implementation of a 300 MW (600 MW/h) electricity storage system project in Navoi province.
The project agreement was signed between the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company— Masdar (UAE).
According to the document, the investor waives his rights and obligations under this project in favor of the project company set up the company. The project company, in turn, assumes the obligation to ensure the guaranteed commissioning of the electricity storage system for operation.
Also, the project provides for the erecting of power transmission networks and substations by the project company in order to connect the energy storage system to the unified electricity grid. After the commissioning of these facilities, they are scheduled to be transferred to the National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan JSC.
Reportedly, the costs incurred by the project company for the construction of power transmission networks and substations are included in the electricity price.
