Today, the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who landed in Tashkent to attend the seventh Central Asia Summit, the Uzbek presidency website said.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ilham Aliyev thanked the Uzbek leader for the invitation to attend the Tashkent Summit.
While, Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President and the fraternal people of Azerbaijan on the fifth anniversary of Victory Day on November 8.
The parties discussed the ways to further develop and strengthen the Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and alliance ties in the light of the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President Mirziyoyev to Azerbaijan in July of this year.
Reportedly, year-to-date, the bilateral trade has increased by 15%, with joint industrial projects in the automotive industry, energy, tourism, and other sectors advancing in an active phase.
The two leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings and events.
