On June 23, Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Deputy PM of Malaysia/Minister for Energy Transition and Water Resources Transformation Fadillah bin Yusof, the presidential press service said.
The Deputy PM Fadillah bin Yusof landed in Uzbekistan to conduct bilateral talks and to attend the United Nations Public Service Forum in Samarkand city.
He conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The parties discussed the ways to further expand the Uzbek-Malaysian multifaceted relations in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Kuala Lumpur in February this year.
The parties commended the intensified of contacts, visits and exchanges at various levels with great satisfaction. Year-to-date, the two-way trade has increased by 25 percent. The number of joint ventures and the frequency of flights have increased. A business forum with the participation of major companies of the two countries will take place tomorrow.
The parties emphasized the importance of unlocking the existing potential for economic cooperation and actively promoting cooperation projects in trade, innovation, green energy, oil and gas and chemical industries, geology, water management, electronics and the semiconductor industry, healthcare, personnel training, development of pilgrimage tourism and other priority areas.
