The government meeting chaired by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday featured a presentation of the future subway line from Tashkent to New Tashkent will be 21 km long and have 9 stations.

The line will start from the Dustlik metro station with the terminus at the new administrative center of the capital.

It is expected that the new line will be able to serve up to 230 thousand passengers a day.

It was reported earlier of the start of construction of subway stations along Yangi Uzbekiston street (New Uzbekistan), connecting the capital with New Tashkent.

Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Davronjon Adilov told the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel that active construction is underway at the intersection of New Uzbekistan street, the Olympic Town and the New Uzbekistan Park, where the third station of the new line will be located.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Turkish company Doğuş Holding using both underground and above-ground technologies, he added.

According to the presentation, the Turkish Arccon Project and the Russian engineering company Mosinzhproekt are also involved. Mosinzhproekt is a holding company 100% owned by the Moscow government. Since 2011, it has been acting as the technical customer, general designer and general contractor for the construction of new stations of the Moscow Metro.

Doğuş Holding (Doğuş Group) is one of the largest privately-owned companies in Turkey, founded in 1951 by Ayhan Şahenk, headquartered in Istanbul. Today, the holding includes more than 250 companies. The number of employees is about 26 thousand people. Scope of activity: car dealership (Audi, Porsche, VW, etc.), construction, media (including NTV, Star TV), hotel business, energy, real estate, technology. It participated in the construction of metro lines in Turkey, as well as Sofia (Bulgaria) and Mumbai (India).

The price of one kilometer of the underground section (monolithic method of tunnel construction) is estimated at about $ 8 million.

It is expected that the duration of the entire trip on the new metro line will be 24 minutes with a minimum interval of 6 minutes.
