The Uzbek Foreign Ministry issued a statement voicing “serious concern” over Israel’s military operation against Iran today.

“We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, immediately cease hostilities, and move to political and diplomatic methods of settlement,” the statement said.

“We consider the risk of further escalation, which could lead to a large-scale confrontation, to be alarming,” the Foreign Ministry added.

In the statement, Uzbekistan reiterated its commitment to enhancing the regional stability and readiness to assist in efforts to de-escalate the conflict.

On June 13, Israel carried out several strikes on targets in Iran, including nuclear facilities. The goal of the operation was “to prevent an Iranian threat to the existence of the Jewish state.” The attack killed several senior Iranian commanders and six nuclear scientists. Iran responded by launching more than 100 drones and threatening Israel with “severe retaliation.”
