The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented the receiving of a note from Uzbekistan demanding clarification of raids against migrants in Moscow, the TASS said today.

According to Zakharova, the information contained in the note is being carefully reviewed and was communicated to the competent authorities. Afterwards, Russia will provide Uzbekistan with objective information in the due procedure.

Russia and Uzbekistan are tied with strong alliance and comprehensive strategic partnership relations, Zakharova added.

Earlier, a police raid was conducted in Moscow to check the status of migrants, and law enforcement officers did not shy away from using force against foreigners. The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan stated that against the backdrop of developing cooperation in labor migration, the facts of rude treatment by law enforcement officials are cause for concern and regret.

Then, Uzbekistan sent a note to the Russian Foreign Ministry demanding an explanation for the violent raids against migrants in Moscow. Diplomats said that such cases were absolutely incompatible with friendly relations between the countries and that specific measures are needed to prevent them.
