A meeting took place between the chief of the Uzenergoinspection under the Cabinet of Ministers, Ilhom Nigmatullayev, and a delegation led by the Executive Director of the Korean Energy Agency, Kim Sung-wan.
Executives of Hyundai Power Systems, Quantum Solution, Aquapro, and KEC System were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties explored opportunities for developing cogeneration projects using biomass waste in Uzbekistan, the prospects for technological cooperation, and the outcomes of the Energy Value Networks Forum held in Tashkent.
The biomass-based pilot project is planned to be implemented in the area near Kokand city in Fergana province and is due to be completed by 2030.
Measures were also developed to increase the participation of Uzenergoinspection officials in advanced training courses organized by the Korean Energy Agency this year.
During the meeting, the sides also reviewed proposals to sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation.
