The factions of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party in the Legislative Chamber signed an agreement to merge into a Progressive Bloc, the press service of the Legislative Chamber said.

The Progressive Bloc, which unites 93 MPs, will form the parliamentary majority. The creation of the bloc is aimed at supporting the program goals of the parties and the effective implementation of reforms initiated by the President of Uzbekistan.

“The bloc, created jointly with the Milliy Tiklanish party, fully supports the Uzbekistan - 2030 Strategy and the State Program for its implementation, will mobilize all resources for its implementation. In addition, the bloc's priorities are to ensure the well-being of the public through sustainable economic growth and firm protection of national interests,” said Aktam Khaitov, head of the UzLiDeP faction.

The following have been identified as the block's priority goals:

  • reducing state’s participation in the economy, increasing export potential, transferring monopoly industries to market principles;
  • ensuring the inviolability of the private property rights of every individual, contributing to improving the standard of living of the population by stimulating the economic activity of individuals;
  • countering any encroachments on freedom of speech, supporting the development of independent non-state media, consistently continuing the policy of openness and freedom;
  • improving the quality of education and developing human potential, supporting non-state educational institutions, creating a healthy competitive environment between state and private educational institutions;
  • digitalization of the healthcare system, introduction of medical insurance, development of non-state medical institutions;
  • simplification of the tax administration system, creation of fair and equal tax conditions for all entrepreneurs, implementation of a national policy of stability of tax rates;
  • reduction of public spending, elimination of bureaucracy through digitalization, expansion of private sector participation in the provision of public services;
  • creation of a private funded pension system that provides individuals with a choice, transition to a modern, transparent pension system managed through competitive market mechanisms;
  • ensuring the sovereignty and security of the country.

"In the context of global difficulties, the coordinated, stable and targeted operation of all branches of government is of decisive importance. The development of Uzbekistan and the well-being of the people are our main priorities. We have joined forces to adopt laws that are consistent with our values ​​​​and serve national interests," commented on the creation of the bloc Chairman of the Central Council of the Milliy Tiklanish Party Alisher Kadyrov.
