There have been more frequent cases of collisions with traffic police officers in Tashkent. The Tashkent Police Department reported on recent traffic accidents.
One of such collisions occurred on April 23 at about 8:30 at the intersection of Durmon Yuli and Mirzo Ulugbek streets. Traffic police inspector Anvar Tashtemirov, who was regulating traffic in the center of the intersection, was hit by the driver of a GM Tracker.
At the hospital, the man was diagnosed with multiple abrasions on both arms, fractures of the pelvic bone, bruises of the soft tissues of the left knee and leg.
“I went out to the intersection to relieve the traffic jam. From the third or fourth lane - I don’t know exactly - a GM Tracker drove up and hit me. My colleagues, the National Guard officers who were there, immediately provided first aid,” the inspector said.
A preliminary investigation is currently underway on the incident.
In another case, on Nukus street, the driver of a GM Malibu-2 was driving without license plates, with fully tinted windows and a siren.
A traffic police officer signaled him to stop, but he, failing to obey the legal demand, carried the inspector on his car's hood for about 1.5 km.
The driver was arrested, with criminal case opened under the Resistance to officer performing a civic duty of the Criminal Code and the car placed in a penalty area.
