Samarkand will host the next Meeting of National Coordinators (NCs) for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Technical Cooperation Program for Europe and Central Asia from May 14 to 16.
The event will take place with the active support of the Uzbek Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety.
The NC meeting serves as a key platform for sharing experiences, discussing priorities, and strengthening regional cooperation among the participating countries of the IAEA's Technical Cooperation Program. National coordinators play a crucial role as the main link between the Agency and national bodies responsible for implementing technical projects and programs.
The upcoming meeting continues the tradition of previous NC meetings, which have been held in Tajikistan, Türkiye, Croatia, and Greece in recent years. Over the course of three days, participants will explore priority areas of cooperation, review the progress of ongoing projects, and develop strategic approaches to enhancing partnerships and improving the effectiveness of technical assistance programs.
The Samarkand meeting will not only mark an important step toward advancing technical cooperation in the region but will also provide a unique opportunity for participants from various countries to experience Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage and scientific potential.
