The penalty points system for traffic offences will not be taking effect on May 1, the spokesman to the Road safety main department of the Interior Ministry Zoyir Yuldashev said.
According to him, the regulation on procedure for penalty points system is currently under development.
After the adoption of the relevant regulation, the procedure and terms for points system for traffic offences will be clearly defined, Yuldashev noted.
Reports appeared earlier online with reference to a draft government resolution that the penalty point system would take effect on May 1. The draft, which was posted for public input in March, stipulates how many points are to be calculated for certain offences, including speeding, violation of the overtaking rule, and others.
