A resident of Kokand city, 29, announced that he would sell 5 hectares of uninhabited land in Dangara district and 2 hectares of vacant land in the adjacent land plot in the government’s reserve for 450 thousand US dollars, saying that he would document it through acquaintances working in the cadaster department.
His brother, who served as the middleman, was arrested while receiving 50 thousand US dollars of the agreed money upfront.
In another operation in Fergana city, a man, 33, was detained. He intended to sell 2 hectares of land belonging to a company for 1 million US dollars, and 50 hectares of adjacent land plot for 50 thousand US dollars through acquaintances. He demanded another $50,000 for the finalizing, totaling $1.1 million.
He was caught with physical evidence while receiving $100,000 in advance.
