Video footage has been circulating on social networks showing children dressed in light national clothing, dancing and entertaining officials in a public event in below zero temperature. The Children's Ombudsperson's Office commented on the situation.
The incident occurred on yesterday, on December 6 at the railway bridge inauguration ceremony in Denau district. Students from music schools No. 14 and No. 16 (16 girls and 4 boys) were involved in the event on the instruction of the district's culture ministry department. They were dressed in light festive clothing in cold weather.
Children's Ombudsperson Surayo Rakhmonova sent a submission to the Ministry of Culture demanding that measures be taken against those responsible for endangering the health of children and to prevent such situations in the future.
The Ministry of Culture reportedly reviewed the submission and applied disciplinary sanctions in the form of reprimands to the principals of both schools.
