Two men allegedly fired several gun shots at a moving Range Rover SUV with Komil Allamjonov today at about 1:40 a.m. on Ifor Street in the Kibray district near Allamjonov’s house, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Reportedly, the car was driven by driver S.S., and emphasizes that there were no casualties. The type of weapon was not specified.
Komil Allamjonov, who until recently worked as the head of the Information Policies Department of the Presidential Administration, and previously - as the deputy chief of the Presidential Administration/ director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications and the spokesman to the president.
According to sources, a GM Cobalt with a security guard was also escorting the Range Rover.
A criminal case has been launched under Attempted premeditated murder, with investigation underway.
Sources added that a large number of law enforcement officers could be seen on the streets in the morning.
