Professor, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Abdulakhat Kakhkharov, 73, was found dead in his Almazar apartment in Tashkent. Information about this surfaced on social networks. The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office confirmed his death.

Reportedly, on July 18 at approximately 22:00, local residents called 102 and complained about noise in one of the apartments on Mukhbir street, Karakamysh 2/5.

The operational investigation team arrived at the scene and found Abdulakhat Kakhkharov on the balcony with cut wounds on various parts of his body.

Based on this fact, the Almazar district prosecutor's office launched a criminal case on July 19 under Intentional murder charge. The suspect has been arrested. The causes of the crime are established.

Abdulakhat Kakhkharov previously worked as a professor at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is the author of the book “Secrets of the Ancient Silk Road of Eastern Turkestan” (2017). He was had researched in little-studied issues of Turkic and Uyghur history. The annotation to the book says that he was the first scientist from Central Asia who, over the past 100 years, followed the routes of European and Russian travelers who were looking for archaeological antiquities on the Uyghur Silk Road in 1814-1914.
