Draft State Social Insurance Bill has been posted for public input on the portal for discussion of draft regulations. The draft was developed by the National Social Protection Agency.
The purpose and mission of the project is to ensure the protection of insured persons from social risks that lead to loss of income.
The passing of the proposed bill, at the Social Insurance Fund:
- will pay in the first stage, from July 1, 2025, pregnancy and maternity benefits to all insured women, regardless of their employment and labor activity, source of insurance;
- will pay in the second stage, from January 1, 2026, temporary disability benefits to all insured individuals, regardless of their type of employment and labor activity, source of insurance;
- will implement in the third stage, according to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, unemployment benefits and other types of payments to the insured persons.
Within the framework of the draft:

1.2 trillion soums will be contributed to pay the pregnancy and childbirth benefits in the second half of 2025;

2.8 trillion soums will be required to pay the pregnancy and childbirth benefits, and 2 trillion soums to pay temporary disability benefits in 2026.
