President signed the Measures to implement the project "Restoration of sustainable forest landscapes in Uzbekistan" with the participation of the International Development Association Decree.
As part of the financing agreement signed between Uzbekistan and the International Development Association, a total of 142 million US dollars will be provided for the implementation of the project "Restoration of sustainable forest landscapes in Uzbekistan" for a period of 30 years with a 5-year grace period. 11 million US dollars worth of grants will be attracted as part of the grant agreements entered into between the Progreen Trust Fund and the KWPF Fund of the Republic of Korea.
The project’s total cost is US$ 205.45 million, while Uzbekistan’s share in the project is 52.45 million US dollars.
The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and the Forestry Agency have been assigned as the executive bodies responsible for the timely and complete implementation, coordination and management of the project and the targeted and effective use of the borrowed funds and grants.
The document confirmed the following:
● technical and economic parameters of the project "Restoration of sustainable forest landscapes in Uzbekistan";
● forecast schedule of the use of loan funds of the International Development Association, its repayment, commission and interest payments within the framework of the implementation of the project "Restoration of sustainable forest landscapes in Uzbekistan";
● "Roadmap" for the implementation of the project "Restoration of sustainable forest landscapes in Uzbekistan";
● measures implemented in Jizzakh, Namangan, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya and Surkhandarya provinces within the framework of the project.
