Buildings and structures at, st. Buyuk Turon, 41 and 42, Tashkent, where the publishing and printing company Sharq and UzA are located, have been put up for public auction as a single property complex, the State Asset Management Agency said.

The decision was made by the government due to the fact that Sharq’s buildings, structures and production equipment were recognized as obsolete and in need of repair, most of them unsuitable for use. The company will move to new buildings and structures at: Katta Khirmontepa st., 1 in the Uchtepa district.

The administrative building of the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) with its chimes stands 16 floors high. The agency will move to the Printing House (“Newspapers Building”) on the. Matbuotchilar st., 32.

The total area of the land plot where these buildings are located (built in 1975-1979) on 3.02 hectares, the area of buildings and structures is 56.5 thousand sq.m.

Bids will be accepted until October 20 through the E-auksion trading platform.

Privatization is subject to “the presentation of the most optimal design concept, taking into account the requirements of modern urban planning.”

In the summer of 2021, the former building of the State Security Service, located across the street from the Sharq publishing house, was sold for 210 billion soums. It was bought by the Metropol Group for the construction of a 22-storey Radisson Collection hotel. The building is being demolished since July.
