Due to strong winds, more than 40,000 consumers were disconnected from power supply in Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Jizzakh provinces.

On June 19, strong dust storms passed through a number of provinces. Footages surfaced on social media show traffic jams due to bad weather.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations provided information on the hydrometeorological natural phenomenon that occurred in the Navoi, Bukhara and Samarkand provinces.

Reportedly, on June 19, dust storms occurred in Navoi, Bukhara and Samarkand provinces due to strong winds. Dust storms became frequent in Uzbekistan, as well as in Central Asia and neighboring countries. Usually, masses of sand and dust that rise into the air disperse and settle on the ground after the wind abates.

At present, the situation has stabilized in the western provinces, and a strong dust storm took place in Tashkent city.
