Russia is the closest partner and ally for the countries of Central Asia, and a confidential dialogue with Russia in the wake of major geopolitical tensions is of particular importance said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, TASS reported.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan had made progress in discussing the "tripartite gas union" project, and there will be benefits for each party.
