President of Uzbekistan approved the FS of a $ 203.9 million 1.2 Mt portland cement plant to be built in  Bulakbashi district of  Andijan province by September 2019.

The Economic Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for 2018-2020, signed on March 6, 2017 in Ashgabat during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan entered into force Monday.

39 projects worth of $251.4 million will be implemented in Navoi free economic zone (FEZ) in 2017-2019, UzA reported. These include projects on setting up the production of glassware, LED lighting products, building materials and other products.

President of Uzbekistan signed the Approval of An International Treaty Resolution on Wednesday. The resolution has approved the agreement, signed on April 3, 2015 in Tashkent between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the United States of America to improve international tax compliance and to implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, which introduce a reporting regime for financial institutions with respect to certain accounts.

A government meeting was held in Tashkent on Tuesday chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The attendees heard and thoroughly discussed reports from the chiefs of the Complex on utility services, transport, capital construction and building industry and the Complex on economic development, structural reforms, investments, reforming the banking and financial systems, coordination of activities of the free economic and small industrial zones under the Cabinet of Ministers; as well those of the heads of the ministries and departments that are part of these complexes on the half-year results, the existing problems and measures to eliminate them, and the important tasks for the second half.

Uzbekistan's GDP growth has remained strong since the mid-2000s. This is due primarily to favourable trade terms for the country’s export commodities (copper, gold, natural gas and cotton), the Government’s macro-economic management and limited exposure to international financial markets. In 2014 the economy grew by 8.1%.

Turkmenistan Airlines intends to launch Ashgabat-Tashkent flight by the end of the year. Senior executives ща Uzbekistan and the Turkmen aviation authorities reportedly discussed launching the said flighе at the meetings in Tashkent on June 28 and 30.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 30 signed Improving Management System In Oil And Gas Industry Decree, the Presidency website said. In line with the document, UzbekNefteGaz, UzNefteGazQazibChiqarish, UzTransGaz, UzNefteprodukt and UzNefteGazMash shall all become joint stock companies. JSC UzGeoBurNefteGaz was renamed into JSC UzBurNefteGaz.

CB&I yesterday announced it has been awarded a technology contract by Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC (SGCC) for a grassroots ethylene complex to be built in southern Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today received the president of the Russian oil company LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov, who is visiting Uzbekistan on a working visit, UzA reported.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Kokand during his Fergana Valley trip. The head of state arrived to Kokand from Margilan on an electrified train.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 21 signed the resolution "On measures to further support local exporting companies and boost foreign economic activity." The specialized foreign trade company UzAgroExport, established in 2016, shall be deprived ща monopoly in the export of fresh fruits and vegetables.
