The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin in connection with the explosion in the metro of St. Petersburg.

"With a feeling of deep sorrow I heard the news of human casualties as a result of an explosion in the metro of St. Petersburg. Please accept my sincere condolences and I ask You to convey the words of deep sympathy to the families and friends of the victims and the injured," the message said.

10 people were reportedly killed and about 50 were injured following an explosion at Technological Institute station in the St. Petersburg metro on Monday. Another explosive device was neutralized at another station. A three-day mourning has been declared in the city starting on Tuesday.
