Jean-Marc Ayrault received his counterparts from the five Central Asian states on 29 March 2017 at the Quai d'Orsay to celebrate the establishment in 1992 of diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The exchanges between the Minister and his guests will be devoted to the development of relations between France and each of them, as well as cooperation on major international issues, starting with the fight against terrorism.

The exchanges will create an opportunity to reiterate France’s support for the modernization of these countries in all fields. Strengthening the links, particularly in the areas of education and culture, will also be on the agenda.

On this day, Jean-Marc Ayrault will also hold bilateral talks with his Uzbek, Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov, Kazakh counterparts, Kaïrat Abdrakhmanov, as well as with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Azamat Usenov, the Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Muzaffar Husseinzoda, and the Turkmen First Deputy Minister, Mr. Vepa Hajiyev.

An archive exhibition retracing the development of diplomatic relations between France and Central Asia during the last twenty-five years will be presented at the Quai d'Orsay by Jean-Marc Ayrault to his interlocutors.
