Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov will today visit Azerbaijan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said. Aripov will be heading the Uzbekistan delegation, which will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is a new transport corridor that will unite the railways of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

The corridor’s peak capacity will be 17 million tons of cargo per year, with the initial load reaching 1 million passengers and 6.5 million tons of cargo.

This project will consistently cut the cargo transportation timeframe from China to Europe from 25-30 days to 12-15 days.
