The President of Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFF), Umid Ahmadjonov, visited Aspire Academy on Monday morning with a delegation including UFF’s Secretary-General Sardor Rakhmatullaev. The delegation was welcomed by senior officials from Aspire Academy, including Director General, Ivan Bravo, and Deputy Director General, Ali Salem Afifa.

Uzbekistan Football Federation convened a special meeting  yesterday, during which Oman Gafurov was appointed as the new Director General of Uzbekistan Pro-League replacing Farhod Magometov.

Tashkent-based hockey club Binokor may enter the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) within the next two seasons, a source said. Currently, the League comprises 27 clubs based in seven countries - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, China, Finland and Slovakia.

On the eve of a crucial World Cup qualifying match at home against South Korea, Uzbekistan head coach Samvel Babayan on Monday was busy defending himself over recent roster decisions. Uzbekistan will host South Korea at Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent at 8 p.m. Tuesday local time. It's the final match for both nations in Group A of the last Asian qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“Tomorrow we will play against a strong side. We have been working on quality of play lately and have managed to improve in some components. Tomorrow we will try to show our best game”, Uzbekistan head coach Samvel Babayan said on Wednesday at pre-match press conference.
