The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations hosted a "round table" to discuss the Civil Service Draft Bill Wednesday.

A delegation of Human Rights Watch (HRW) will visit Uzbekistan in August, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov announced at a press conference following the Uzbekistan-EU Cooperation Council.

The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov met the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini Tuesday. The meeting, which took place the day after the 13th Cooperation Council between the EUand Uzbekistan, was an opportunity for both sides to assess the positive trend of bilateral relations, as well as to discuss regional and international matters.

Starting from August 1, 2017 UzMedExport, a state owned company will be entitled to import and medical products included in the list of socially significant medicines without holding tenders, based on direct contracts.

The Cooperation Council between the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Uzbekistan held its thirteenth meeting on Monday, 17 July in Brussels. 

On Wednesday, an Afghanistan delegation including the President's National Security Adviser  Mohammad Hanif Atmar and Chief adviser on Infrastructure and Technology Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi is expected to arrive in Tashkent on a working visit, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The European Union (EU) commends the reforms that are being undertaken in Uzbekistan and stands ready to support the country, the Director-General for International Development and Cooperation of the European Commission Stefano Manservisi said in a briefing during his visit in Tashkent.

On July 15, the Inter-provincial Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Kazakhstan, signed in Astana on March 23, 2017 during the state visit of the President Uzbekistan Sh.Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan, came into force.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Tashkent’s Yunusabad district Saturday. The head of state familiarized himself with the activities of the Security Office of the Tashkent Police Department.

Odilkhon Rustamov has been appointed as new mayor of Tashkent's Shaykhantahur district, replacing Oybek Mirtemirov, the mayor's office said in a statement. Since 2016 until recently he was the head of UzbekOziqOvqatHolding (Uzbek Food Holding).
