During the talks on July 3 between delegations led by Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, a decision was made to establish an Uzbek embassy in Georgia.

The Uzbek president thanked the Georgian side for its decision to name one of Tbilisi's parks after the great poet Alisher Navoi. Joint roadmap will be drawn up to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached during the talks.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia were established on August 19, 1994. Georgia currently has an embassy in Uzbekistan, based in Tashkent, while Uzbekistan has until now conducted its diplomatic affairs with Georgia through its embassy in Baku.
