Uzbekistan is helping Russia circumvent sanctions by selling US and Japanese-made civilian components needed to build missiles. The official of the intelligence unit of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky told La Repubblica in an interview.

“They (the Russian authorities) also turned to China and North Korea, possibly Kyrgyzstan, for the supply of weapons, in particular balls for the Smerch and Uragan MLRSs. There are countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan that help Russia circumvent sanctions by selling them US- and Japanese-made civilian components needed to build missiles,” he said.

He underscored that the Russians do not have the ultra-modern weapons that they kept demonstrating at military parades.

“It's just staged. Moscow cannot produce high-tech weapons on its own, so it turns to other countries,” Skibitsky added.

The other day it was reported that countries neighboring Russia suddenly increased imports of European household appliances, including washing machines, refrigerators and even electric breast pumps, and while they are being re-exported to Russia. According to Bloomberg, this causes concern among European officials. They believe that Russia may use some of the components of them for military purposes.
