The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyiv sent an official note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to the website of the diplomatic mission.

This is due to a video circulating on social networks, which depicts the detention by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of two Uzbeks who was hired by Redut a Russian private military company.

The embassy's note was sent "in order to obtain detailed and reliable information on this occasion," the statement said.

“We urge you not to distribute unverified information on this video and wait for the final clarification of all the circumstances, which will be announced later,” the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine requested.

A few days ago, journalist Yuriy Butusov said in footage that during the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Balakleya area, a reconnaissance group ambushed a Russian convoy. They managed to destroy part of the enemy equipment, and capture another part along with the crews, the Focus edition quoted Butusov.

Two captives stated that they arrived in Ukraine from Uzbekistan. In particular, a 22-year-old student from Samarkand, Mukhriddin Akhmedov, stated that he was in a mortar battery and fired a 120 mm mortar, and decided to join a private military company in order to earn money. Another captive specified that he was forced to participate in hostilities in Ukraine because he lived and worked in Russia for five years without documents.
