Following the talks the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov oversaw the signing of bilateral accords in the Avaza Congress Center.
In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between JSC UzbekŠ£nergo and the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan on transit and transmission of electricity; Agreement between the Committee of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Environmental Protection and the Committee of Turkmenistan on Environmental Protection and Land Resources on cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development; Protocol between the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Physical Culture and Sport and the Committee of Turkmenistan on Sport on cooperation, as well as organizing the participation of Uzbek athletes in the V-Asian Games in enclosed spaces and in martial arts; Memorandum of Cooperation between Uzbekistan Airways and Turkmen Airways; Memorandum of Understanding between UzbekNeftGaz and TurkmenNebit.
The parties also concluded an agreement on the establishment of twin relations between the cities of Ashgabat and Tashkent and the Agreement on Cooperation between the Seyitnazar Seidi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute and Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami.
After the ceremony of signing the documents, the leaders of the two countries made addresses to the media.
