A new rail freight route from China's eastern province of Jiangsu through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan began operating over the weekend.
The final destination with more than 1,000 tons of goods, including household appliances and auto parts, with a total value of $4.4 million, is Uzbekistan, where the cargo should be delivered in 20 days, Kazinfrom reported.
The freight train will pass through the seaport of Lianyungang (Jiangsu Province, East China). Since 2014, a Kazakh logistics terminal has been operating in Lianyungang.
According to Huang Hongliang, Chairman of Association of Foreign Trade Enterprises of Jiangsu Province, the new route takes full advantage of the logistics freight traffic from Lianyungang to the Central Asia.
Reportedly, the city of Wuxi is one of the key centers of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. At the end of 2021, Wuxi's trade for the first time surpassed $100 billion, of which exports are at $65 billion, imports - $40 billion.
