President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today spoke to the President Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev over the telephone, the presidential press service of the head of state reported.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the Kazakh leader on the successful holding of a nationwide referendum on the issue of introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the country.
The two leaders considered the ways to strengthen the Uzbek-Kazakh strategic partnership and alliance ties, and exchange views on the regional agenda.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of agreements at the highest level, primarily on the promotion of priority projects of bilateral trade, economic, investment, transport and communication, scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The counterparts also discussed prospects for regional cooperation, the continuation of a close and fruitful dialogue within the framework of international organizations.
