Zhongtong tourist bus collided with a KAMAZ truck in Ishtykhan district of Samarkand province. The incident occurred on May 22, but the Samarkand province traffic police department reported it only on May 29.
The bus was carrying foreign tourists from Bukhara to Samarkand. The accident happened around midnight. According to provisional information, the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel.
The bus driver's partner was seriously injured and died at the scene. Among the passengers, a Romanian citizen was injured, he was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The provincial traffic police, as in similar cases earlier, discussed the accident with locals.
