As part of the participation of the Uzbekistan delegation in 75th session of the World Health Assembly, the Minister of Health Behzod Musaev met with the WHO Director General Tedres Ghebreyesus.
At the meeting, the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) was briefed about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. The Minister Musaev expressed gratitude to WHO for assisting Uzbekistan in ensuring equal access to vaccines within the framework of the COVAX initiative, Dunyo reported.
In order to further expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and WHO and to familiarize with the whole range of reforms in the country in the field of healthcare, the director general was invited to personally visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
The WHO Director General noted a significant improvement in the Uzbek health care system in recent years and the readiness of the organization's experts to provide all possible assistance to the government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of the initiated large-scale reforms in the health sector.
