U.S. delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu will visit Uzbekistan on May 23-25, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The U.S. Assistant Secretary is scheduled to discuss with Uzbek officials the current state and the ways to advance the Uzbek-US ties in various areas.
Also, an exchange of views on regional and international issues will reportedly take place.
Donald Lu took over as Assistant Secretary of State in September 2021. Prior to that, he was the US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan (2018-2021) and Albania (2015-2018).
In December last year, he led the US delegation at the first meeting of the Uzbekistan-US Strategic Partnership Dialogue in Tashkent. The next meeting of the dialogue is scheduled for 2022 in Washington.
