On April 28, Deputy PM/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov had a telephone conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties exchanged views on the progress of the agreements reached during the visit of the President Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 19, 2021 to Moscow.
Also, the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral ties in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, the further development of interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan in the CIS, the SCO and, in general, in the foreign policy courses.
On April 27, as per the presidential decree, Vladimir Norov was appointed First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and interim Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
