The Japan’s Foreign Minister will visit Uzbekistan. This is the first visit by a Japanese foreign minister to the country in 12 years. Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi will visit Uzbekistan on April 29-30. This is the first visit of a Japanese Foreign Minister to our country in the last 12 years, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yusup Kabilzhanov said in a briefing.

Series of meetings and negotiations with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, a visit to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, as well as visits to historical sights of the city of Tashkent are planned during the meeting.

Yusup Kabilzhanov added that the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019 opened a new page in relations between the countries and gave a powerful impetus to strategic partnership.

“We express the hope that the upcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan will give another new impetus to the political dialogue and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, which undoubtedly has great potential,” he concluded.
