In Uzbekistan, since August 2021, 45.6 thousand workers, who refused to be vaccinated against coronavirus, have been suspended from work. This was announced on February 23 by the head of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Bakhodir Yusupaliyev.
In early August, the President of Uzbekistan signed a law giving employers the right not to allow an employee to work for refusing vaccination. Reportedly, over the past time, inspections were carried out in 28.5 thousand business entities and more than 44.6 thousand budget-financed organizations.
According to the findings, about 89.4 thousand unvaccinated workers were identified of which 45.6 thousand were temporarily suspended from work. Employers were fined in 4,600 cases, and measures were taken to temporarily suspend activities in relation to 246 facilities.
By the decision of the special commission, employers were obliged to ensure that at least 90% of employees are vaccinated against coronavirus, including a booster dose.
