Renault will launch production and sales activities in Uzbekistan together with the partner company Roodell, the company said. Jan Ptacek, the CEO of Renault for Russia and the CIS, said that the presence on the market implies a long-term project for the local assembly of Renault cars and the development of a dealer network.
Renault is said to launch SUV models in the Uzbek market. The first cars will be available to customers in November: first, the Renault Arkana coupe-crossover and the Renault Kaptur city crossover will go on sale, and a little later, the new generation of the Renault Duster SUV.
The development of the Renault dealer network in Uzbekistan will take place gradually as per demand. In the first phase, Renault sales and service will be set up thorugh two dealerships in Tashkent.
As reported in January, the assembly of LADA and Renault models is planned to be established at the ADM-Jizzakh plant in Jizzakh. According to the investment program, the design capacity will be 100 thousand vehicles per year. The project is estimated at US$ 60.9 million, of which US$ 33.3 was planned to be disbursed in 2021.
Renault Group entered the Uzbek market with the supply of Lada cars (part of the Renault Group). The local partner is Roodell, which already sell Lada and Kia here.
