Uzbekistan Railways has bought one more Afrosiyob (Talgo) high-speed electric train, the company said. As per the deal entered into between the Spanish Patentes Talgo S.L.U. and Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC, another rolling stock of the Afrosiyob electric train is currently halfway to Uzbekistan.
The train has already arrived at the Russian port of St. Petersburg on a ship from the Spanish port of Bilbao. At this stage of delivery, the specialists of Uzbekiston Railways, together with their Russian colleagues, will begin work on installing a modern electric train on the rails, deliver it to Uzbekistan.
Currently, Uzbekistan has five Talgo trains, which run to Samarkand, Jizzak, Navoi, Bukhara and Karshi.
