On September 15-16, the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) under the President of Poland Paweł Solokh visited Uzbekistan on an official trip.

According to Polskie Radio, in Tashkent, Paweł Solokh met with the Uzbek President’s Security Aide Viktor Makhmudov, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Defense Minister Bakhodir Kurbanov.

With high-ranking Uzbek officials Paweł Solokh reportedly discussed the current situation in the region after the seizure of power by the Taliban in Afghanistan and the related threats to European states, in particular, the migration crisis. The talks concerned, first of all, the prospects for the development of the situation and security in the Central Asian region, as well as terrorist threats. The issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of security and the defense industry were also touched upon.

On August 25, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

The leaders discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including advancing the political dialogue, expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, promotion of cultural and humanitarian exchange programs, as well as the continuation of fruitful interaction within the framework of international organizations.

The counterparts also exchanged views on the current situation in the region in the context of the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
