The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Dushanbe to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on September 17, the press service of the head of state said.
The President was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and other officials.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday will hold meetings with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
Participants of the SCO anniversary summit will consider the outcomes of the organization's activities over the past 20 years, discuss multilateral cooperation and issues of global politics and the regional agenda., the Dushanbe Declaration will be adopted following the summit and a number of documents will be signed.
Eight states - India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - are full members of the SCO, created in 2001.
