The Foreign Ministry spokesman Yusup Kabulzhanov confirmed the departure of Afghan servicemen and other citizens from Uzbekistan.

Earlier, the Reuters reported that the United States last Sunday began to evacuate the Afghan pilots from Uzbekistan.

“Due to the well-known events in Afghanistan, a group of former military personnel and the civilians of Afghanistan illegally crossed the state border of Uzbekistan and were detained. On September 12-13, all Afghan citizens who were on the territory of Uzbekistan were evacuated to another country,” Yusup Kabulzhanov said.

Nearly a month ago, Afghan pilots crossed the Uzbek border in helicopters and planes of the Afghan Air Force. On August 16, the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan reported that 22 military aircraft and 24 helicopters, in which there were 585 armed Afghan servicemen, had illegally crossed the country's airspace.
